UPDATE:

Wow and UPDATE! August 23, 2006!!! Deeper in the 10's she goes!

Decided to hit up a test and tune at Lebanon Valley Dragway.  The night started out rough. Problems with my connection to the trailer, missing tow strap, flakey brake controller but I made it to LVD at about 6:20 or so..

First pass out I went 11.0@128 with a HORRIBLE 1-2 shift. Waited about 40 minutes and went again.

This time I stuck the 1-2 and had a nice 1.5 60'.

Here is the slip:

I also tossed together this video of the night:

Overall I am happy. My goal was to beat my 10.8. I definitely think she will go a little lower for me. Just didn't want to wait another 45 minutes plus it was getting super dark.

Next event is drag day unless I get bored and hit up another test and tune session.

THE HISTORY:

I purchased my 1990 Eclipse on October 29,2002 from Andy, a local DSMer.

Originally he had  a 20g on it and was making 355awhp but after some bad luck with a blown head gasket due to a bad VPC chip the car was put back to basically stock (other then some suspension mods and fuel pump). I picked up the car for $4400 in what I would say MINT condition.

The car was originally from California so the body was in super shape with ZERO rust.  I bought the car with the intention of using it as my daily driver for my road job.  That soon changed thereafter.

THE BEGINNING:

When I received the car it had a few minor problems.

The car would not idle properly and the gauge cluster would light up as if the car was ready to die. After some research I found that the alternator was bad. I replaced the alternator and the car  ran mint. Another problem the car had when I bought it was the blow off valve was not routed back to the intake and the car was stumbling.  I purchased a rubber tube at Manny's Auto Parts in Wethersfield, CT and all was good.  Hope you enjoy your stay.  Be sure to check back periodically for updates.
