UPDATE: August 23, 2006: Deeper in the 10's
she goes! Decided
to hit up a test and tune at Lebanon Valley Dragway. The night started
out rough. Problems with my connection to the trailer, missing tow strap,
flakey brake controller but I made it to LVD at about 6:20 or so..
First pass out I went 11.0@128 with a HORRIBLE 1-2 shift. Waited about 40
minutes and went again.
This time I stuck the 1-2 and had a nice 1.5 60'.
Here is the slip:

I also tossed together this video of the night:

Overall I am happy. My goal
was to beat my 10.8. I definitely think she will go a little lower for me.
Just didn't want to wait another 45 minutes plus it was getting super dark.
Next event is drag day unless I get bored and hit up another test and tune
session.
June 9, 2006: FINALLY in the
10's!!!!!

After a year of problems Kevin90GSX finally
hit 10's today TWICE.
Well first of all I want to give the
BIGGEST thanks to Shawn Mclarney. He has been the biggest help to me to get
the car back together. Whether it was working through crazy hours at night
or just doing things that normal people wouldn't even think of doing to make
things happen. Hats off to him and couldn't ask for a greater person backing
me up when things go wrong.
So the day started out kind of iffy. We got their and after two runs the car
was breaking up. Change of plugs and some advice from Tony to twist off the
top of the spark plugs and we were back in business.
After about 6 passes Id have to say I finally got a good launch and quick
1-2 shift. 10.910 @ 129. Of course a lot of times their is talk of people
backing it up so at about 2 or so after running all day in the left lane I
switched over to the right lane and bang 10.80@ 118.

We are very excited about finally hitting 10's. Now if I can get my anti-lag
hooked up I expect to see some mid 10's.
October 1, 2004: Tada! New Personal best
yet again!!! 11.42@124.
Today
was our drag day event at Lebannon Valley Dragway in NY. The weather wasn't
to nice to us in the morning and we didn't begin racing till 11:15 due to
the track crew drying the track (Was suppose to start at 10).
Once racing began I went for my shake down. I had changed my old chip with a
new one and a new studder rpm of 5000.
Pulled up and launched her rather nicely.
11.42 @124 with a 1.7 60'. Car seemed to rip very nicely. Not my best 60 but
I wasn't about to complain.

New personal best ET and MPH.
On the flipside though on the second pass my street disk said screw you and
broke. We think it was a defective one though cause its really not that old.
Apparently ACT had a batch of cluthes go out that were made by the wrong
company they usually use and they believe mine is one of those.
More details to follow.
Overall I was pleased. Only got one solid run in but its all I needed to
crack off my new best. I definitely think the car has 11.2's in her as she
sits.
Once again HUGE props to the crew over at
Victor Research for helping me
to get the car prepared and ready for this event. They always seem to
know how to come through in the clutch! (No pun intended hahaha)
Time will tell though. May try to sneak in one more track visit before
calling it a wrap.
July 7, 2004:
Well after having run the car over a month
ago I got the itch to return to the track. So I headed out Saturday and on
the ride up the clouds seemed to be moving in and thought the test and tune
may get rained out but lucky enough it did not.
I went to Lebannon Valley's Test and Tune and got there about 9:45 all
teched in and poured in the race gas and upped the boost.
First Run:
Screwed up my launch and got a 2.1 60ft and a 12.4 shake down. Not all that
bad for my first run.
Second Run:
Launch her like a bat out of hell and bam 1.6 60ft and a new personal best
of 11.5@118. I was warned that I needed a fire suit and padding on my cage.
He told me to slow it down.
Third Run and what would be my final run:
On the third run I figured Id give it all I got and get booted in style.
Felt like a really nice launch but killed it when I messed up the 3/4 shift
and ended up with an 11.6@120, my new highest mph.
I was definitely super happy with the results from the day. 11.5 is my new
personal best but I hope to better that a little bit before the season is
out.
Thanks to my buddy Doug who really helped with doing my plugs and general
stuff as well as taping.

All that and I drove it up there and
drove it home.

21, 2004:
Well just back from my first event this season at
Lebanon Valley Dragway. After extensive work on the car Ive finally joined
the elite of the 11 second club.
Here is how my day went for my 5
passes:
1. I had the stutter box set too 4500 but I was bogging off the line and ran a
12.89 for my shake down.
2. Second pass I decided to not use the stutter box and just come out smooth
well I bogged again and poof off pops my turbo to IC coupler. After about 20
minutes of torture on goes a different clamp and we are good to go.
3. I decided on the third run that I was going too cut the stutter box wire and
see if that would allow me to run higher rpm's at the start but no dice. I ended
up hurting myself more so then when it was hooked up because what I did made
every gear only go to 4500 rpms.
4. I finally get a decent launch by ever so slowly letting the clutch go and
broke out with a 12.012@117. I was pretty excited.
5. Turns out the track rental ended at 3:30 and this would be my last pass.
Gunning for 11's all day I told myself I got to get a good launch. Well sure
enough I did the same thing as I did on pass 4 and on the last pass I was able
to get the 11.991@119.
To see the pass click here.
Here is the slip (My reaction time is low which you
can see why in the vid, I was more concerned about my launch.):

I know the car has a lot more
in her but I need more seat time. I didn't get enough runs in and time behind
the wheel to really pull off lower numbers but all in due time.. The season is
still young.
I have to give HUGE props and thanks to my Dad (Roger Bernier) and all the guys at
Victor Research (Shawn, Aaron, Tim,
Booth, and Denny you crazy ass mofo) and my dad. They really came through in
what was a terrible situation and turned it into something great with the
littlest time frame ever. I was down there almost everyday for the past week and
tension was high but in the end it was a huge success and most definitely a
victory. I simply cant thank them enough.
October 3, 2003:
After some difficulty
I was able to run my car and get a new personal best of 12.171@118.
I did it all with a 50trim FP49 turbo.

It was a long road to
get there. You can get more details on it in the progress page
located at the top.
