PROGRESS:

*NEW UPDATE- May 23,2004*

Well just back from my first event this season at Lebanon Valley Dragway.  After extensive work on the car Ive finally joined the elite of the 11 second club.

Here is how my day went for my 5 passes:

1. I had the stutter box set too 4500 but I was bogging off the line and ran a 12.89 for my shake down.

2. Second pass I decided to not use the stutter box and just come out smooth well I bogged again and poof off pops my turbo to IC coupler. After about 20 minutes of torture on goes a different clamp and we are good to go.

3. I decided on the third run that I was going too cut the stutter box wire and see if that would allow me to run higher rpm's at the start but no dice. I ended up hurting myself more so then when it was hooked up because what I did made every gear only go to 4500 rpms.

4. I finally get a decent launch by ever so slowly letting the clutch go and broke out with a 12.012@117. I was pretty excited.

5. Turns out the track rental ended at 3:30 and this would be my last pass. Gunning for 11's all day I told myself I got to get a good launch. Well sure enough I did the same thing as I did on pass 4 and on the last pass I was able to get the 11.991@119.

To see the pass click here.

Here is the slip (My reaction time is low which you can see why in the vid, I was more concerned about my launch.):

I know the car has a lot more in her but I need more seat time. I didn't get enough runs in and time behind the wheel to really pull off lower numbers but all in due time.. The season is still young.

I have to give HUGE props and thanks to my Dad (Roger Bernier and all the guys at Victor Research (Shawn, Aaron, Tim, Booth, and Denny you crazy ass mofo) and my dad. They really came through in what was a terrible situation and turned it into something great with the littlest time frame ever. I was down there almost everyday for the past week and tension was high but in the end it was a huge success and most definitely a victory. I simply cant thank them enough.

2003- Racing Season

Alot has happened in 2003.  I decided to go bigger after running 12.87@108 back in August.  I wanted to go with the PTE SCM50 however when I went to place my order they were on back order.  After doing some research I was able to purchase a FP49 through Victor Research which was actually the PTE SCM50 with the Forced Performance logo stamped on it.

I also went with the GM MAF translator pictured here:

I did have some issues getting everything squared away with this setup such as the oil return line was kinked and causing the car to smoke extremely bad.  I didn't notice this till after I had already gone to the dyno

Kinked oil return line:

Pruven was able to squeeze me in the next day and I was able to get the car semi tuned when we found that my FMIC had several leaks.  The car put down 294 awhp leaking from 5 holes so I wasn't happy but at the same time more then I figured it would do considering the circumstance.

After a last minute trip to Victor Research in East Hartford, Connecticut I bought another FMIC the day before the drag day. (Mad props to them for the short notice and ability to have one in stock. Definitely check them out.)

I made it to the track and was able to have a new personal best of 12.171@118. The lack of traction from my very bald Nitto 450's didnt do me any good but I was still pleased to even be at the event.

My goal for 2004 is get rid of the very heavy Konig monsoons, pick up some drag radials and get a nice ET  Id also like to improve my horsepower to over 360awhp.

Stay Tuned.
